Instilling a passion for sport and fitness at a young age can feel like a challenge for both parents and their children. Far from being something as simple as a violent activity; boxing has many benefits in developing children holistically, and these benefits could extend to school and everyday life. Active children are more confident, happier and tend to perform better academically and socially. Our after-school programmes are designed to give our tamariki the opportunity to build confidence, connections and character through boxing (non-contact). These core values will give our tamariki the skillset to take responsibility for their physical and mental health through engaging in future physical activity and sport for life, whether it be boxing or any other sport/activity.

Why Boxing ?
Far from being something as simple as a violent activity, boxing has many benefits in developing children holistically, and these benefits extend to school and everyday life. Active children are more confident, happier and tend to perform better academically and socially.
The SXS Youth Boxing Programme will give tamariki the opportunity to build confidence, connections and character.
Through the art of boxing, tamariki will learn these core values, and gain the skills to take responsibility for their physical and mental health by engaging in future physical activity and sport for life, whether it be boxing or any other sport/activity.
"Boxing is a kind of magic. It gives discipline to the wild. Strength to the weak. Confidence to the shy."
- W. Klitschko

The coaches: Pax & Jax

Pax (Prakishni Patel) and Jax (Jackson Keet) are our two head coaches for Sticks x Stones Youth Boxing, brought together by their mutual love for martial arts and training. Between them they have over a decade of boxing experience including competing multiple boxing events, and have run countless youth boxing programmes across West Auckland schools.
Both Pax and Jax feel strongly that boxing has been a positive impact on their life. The discipline, fun, confidence and maturity boxing has given them, made them want to give something back to the sport that they love, and have created the Youth Boxing programme to pass that on to younger people.
